La Sabana Hotel, Suites & Apartments sponsors Amigos del Rio Torres, a non profit organization dedicated to the renewal of Rio Torres, one of the two main rivers that run through San José.

One of the main activities of the organization is to host river clean ups, in order to bring awareness and provide environmental education.  They are part of the Rutas Urbanas initiative, which seeks to connect 25km of pedestrian ways along the Rio Torres and Rio Maria Aguilar.

On February 1^st, we participated as volunteers in the River Cleanup of Rio Torres near Los Cipreses.  Besides cleaning the river, we also prepared an area which will undercome reforestation once the rainy season kicks in later this year.  We encourage you to get involved and take action, together we can make a difference!
